Disclosure.

In this, the world of the internet, one of the chief concerns among many is privacy. Some people are really uptight and worried about it, others just plain don’t care. In the interest of privacy, i thought i’d let you know where i stand and what i will do with the data i collect about you.

What i do:

  1. I use javascript. I don’t actively try to use but i won’t hesitate when it does what i want.
  2. I use google analytics. I don’t have ads(because i don’t have viewers), but i do include a google javascript on every page i serve giving google information about every user who visits my site.
  3. I log. I keep lots and lots of logs on all kinds of things. That said, its not malicious. I log because i like to have stats on who is actually visiting, spamming, hacking, etc.
  4. I post logs. If i find an interesting trend or are just bored i will post the content of some of my logs. This will include your full ip address and possibly what sites you have visited. I may also do a whois on your ip address and post what country or state or locality it is from.
  5. I censor my comments. This is my blog. You have no rights here. I am god on this site. Get over it.

What i don’t do:

  1. Post your email address. When you register as a user or leave a comment you have to provide an email address. This is absolutely private. I will never post your email address without your approval.
  2. I don’t sell your information. Anything i decide to post here is obviously free to the world but i will never get in the business of selling your personal information to anybody for any reason.
  3. Use your real life identity. This one may not sound like it makes sense but if you have an online identity that you want to keep seperate from real life, i won’t violate that by posting your real name, address, place you work, etc.
  4. Ignore you. If you have a legitimate concern, let me know. If you don’t agree with something i say, let me know. If you want me to take something down for any reason, let me know. I may not always respond as you’d like but i will respond.

So, now you know a little bit more about how the mind of Jesse Cole works. If you have any objections about this, send me an email, leave me a comment. If you don’t want your private identity revealed, by all means, use a proxy. Might i recommend Ninja Proxy. I have tried to be forthcoming as i can on this page, and would appreciate any question, comments, suggestions, etc. that you may have.
